dinky.horse is a bulletin board for event flyers sent in by text message. We keep the footprint small on purpose. Here is everything we hold onto.
What we collect
- Your phone number, when you text us.
- The words and any photo or video you send us.
- Whatever the message's location hints at — a venue, a city, a ZIP.
- A log of messages in and out, so we can follow a conversation and investigate abuse.
What we do with it
- Show approved flyers on the site and in its RSS feeds.
- Route submissions to a human moderator for yes/no.
- Reply to you over SMS when there is something to say back.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data. We do not send marketing. We do not share your phone number with anyone outside the carriers that carry the message.
Who sees it besides us
Our SMS carrier (Twilio) and, if you email us, whatever mail service handles that email. That is it.

How long we keep it
Approved flyers stick around until the event is well past or we're asked to remove them. Rejected and unprocessed messages get cleaned up on a rolling basis.
